Booking Terms

To ensure you the best experience and feel secure and happy about your booking we offer an online booking service, and accept most credit and debit cards



Subject to availability, single occupancy is available in rooms Marazion and Gwynver. This will be charged at £10 less than the rate for 2 people sharing.


We operate a minimum 2 consecutive night stay policy. All bank holiday weekends, we have a three night minimum stay. One night stays are sometimes possible during our Off-Peak season and at short notice, please give us a call to check if possible. One night bookings are not available in advance and will attract a supplement of £10 to cover increased laundry and cleaning costs.


We take all cards. We do not accept personal cheques.


Check in is between 4pm and 7pm (unless otherwise by arrangement), but we can take your luggage earlier. Check out is by 10am. luggage can be stored for you until later in the day.


We have certain rooms suitable for children and dogs. Children aged 5+ are most welcome in the loft suite, Gwynver our twin and Sennen our largest double. Children must be supervised at all times and cannot be left alone in the rooms. Trundle beds will be setup in these rooms for children to sleep in. There is a £20 supplement for each additional bed.
Dogs are welcome in Marazion and Kynance. There is an additional doggie room rate of £15 charged per night. Only one dog per room is permitted.
If you have both a dog and children please give us a call to discuss.


When you book, we charge a deposit of the cost of the first nights stay. This deposit becomes non-refundable if your booking is cancelled at any time, unless we can re-let the room (in which case the deposit will be refunded).
In the event of cancellation for any reason less than 7 days prior to arrival, the full stay cost will be payable on cancellation and will be charged to your card. We will try to re-let your room and if we are successful, the room cost will be refunded by the amount for which are able to re-let the room (less any booking charges we incur). Please consider adequate insurance to cover cancellation. For any cancellation following a booking, any refund will be subject to a deduction which covers the relevant credit/debit card commission charges and any additional administration costs.


There is free on-street parking in surrounding roads for cars.


 Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the the property.



Elmsdale Guest House is located in a restored 1880s town house within the Penzance Conservation Area. Penzance is an ideal location from which to explore West Cornwallbecause of its central location within the Penwith Peninsula and role as the area travel hub.

Access Statement

There are 4 steps to the front door of Elmsdale Guest House Penzance.  All bedrooms are on the first, second and third floors which requires guests to be able to negotiate the main staircase.  The guest house is not suitable for wheelchair users or those that need help with stairs.
